Polish Open reactivation
The most prestigious golf tournament in Poland reappears in the schedule of the tournament after several years of absence. PGA Poland began negotiations with strategic partners like Polish Golf Union and sponsors to restore this tournament as a part of EPD Tour series.
Polish Open is one of the oldest Polish professional tournaments. It was first held in 1996 at the First Warsaw Golf & CC as a series of Challenge Tour. The winner was Erol Simek from Germany. In 1998-1999 the tournament was played in Rajszew also. In 2002 Polish Open took place in Pomerania at Postolowo GC. The last time as a part of the EPD Tour Polish Open was played in 2007. In the subsequent years 2008-2009 Polish Open was held but no longer as a part of EPD Tour series.
Thanks to the cooperation with Polish Golf Union tournament will return to the EPD Tour series. Both organizations are discussing details with strategic sponsors of this event. The tournamnet will take place approximately in June 2013
EPD Tour is a professional golf series, which is played mostly in Germany. It is the gateway to the world's major tournaments cycles. Martin Kaymer began his career at the EPD Tout and 2011 was number 1 in the OWGR.
